- The Flyers have a 1-3-1 record for three points through five games. They are in fifth place in the Atlantic Division.


- The Flyers have a 0-1-1 record in two home games and a 1-2-0 record in three road games.

- Four of the Flyers' first five games were against Atlantic Division opponents (1-2-1 record in the four games).

- The Flyers are tied for 24th in the NHL in goals for (11 goals in five games, 2.20 goals per game). The Flyers are tied for 21st in the NHL in goals-against average (3.15 GAA). The Flyers are tied for 25th in the NHL on the power play at 10.0% (four goals in 40 attempts). The Flyers are seventh in the NHL in penalty killing at 89.3% (three goals allowed in 28 attempts against).

- Peter Forsberg (2G,4A) and Mike Knuble (3G,3A) are tied for the team lead in scoring with six points. Knuble and Simon Gagne have each scored three goals to lead the team. Joni Pitkanen leads the team in assists with five.

- Pitkanen is tied for second among NHL defensemen in points with five (5A).

- Flyers at Buffalo on Tuesday, Oct. 17: This is the first of four meetings between these two teams this season. The Sabres defeated the Flyers in a 2006 Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series, four games to two. The Flyers lost the 2005-06 regular season series to the Sabres with a 1-2-1 record. The Flyers have only one win in their last eight games played in Buffalo (1-6-1 record). Tuesday's game will be televised by Versus and broadcast by 610 WIP, starting at 7:00 p.m.

- Flyers at Tampa Bay on Thursday, Oct. 19: This is the first of four meetings between these two teams this season. The Flyers lost the 2005-06 season series to the Lightning, losing all four games. The Flyers have lost their last eight games against the Lightning. The Flyers' last win against the Lightning was on April 4, 2003, 4-1 at Tampa Bay. Thursday's game will be televised by Comcast SportsNet and broadcast by 610 WIP, starting at 7:30 p.m.

- Flyers at Florida on Friday, Oct. 20: This is the first of four meetings between these two teams this season. The Flyers won the 2005-06 season series against the Panthers, winning all four games. Simon Gagne led all players in series scoring with six points (4G,2A) in four games. The Flyers are undefeated in their last 10 games against the Panthers in Florida (9-0-1). The Flyers' last loss against the Panthers in Florida was on January 17, 2000, 3-1. Friday's game will be televised by Comcast SportsNet and broadcast by 610 WIP, starting at 7:30 p.m.
