Flyers make qualifying offers to seven players

Club announces it has made offers to restricted free agents

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have made Qualifying Offers to the following players, according to GM Ron Hextall:

Cole Bardreau, Scott Laughton, Taylor Leier, Alex Lyon, Roman Lyubimov, Anthony Stolarz and Mike Vecchione.


  • In his second full season with the Phantoms, he appeared in 72 of 76 games recording 24 points (9g-15a)
  • Played a four-year career at Cornell University and won a gold medal with Team USA at 2013 World Junior Championships where he was also teammates with Shayne Gostisbehere.


  • He recorded 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points in 60 games, while playing in all situations for the Phantoms.
  • He led the team and tied for the AHL lead with four shorthanded goals and led all Phantoms with a plus-minus rating of +17 this season.
  • He has appeared in 109 NHL games, recording 27 points (9g-18a) with the Flyers over parts of the last three seasons.


  • He appeared in 10 games for the Flyers this season and recorded his first NHL goal and had two points while averaging 9:03 of ice time.
  • He was named an alternate captain for the Phantoms… He posted 37 points (13g-24a) in just 48 games this season to go along with a +10 rating.
  • He was also named to the AHL's 2017 All-Star Classic and won MVP after scoring a hat trick.


  • He finished the season with a 27-14-5 record with a 2.74 GAA and .912 save percentage to go along with four shutouts.
  •  His 27 wins were tied for fourth among all AHL goaltenders and led all AHL rookie goaltenders.


  • He made his NHL debut with the Flyers on Nov. 27 where he stopped 29 of 32 shots to earn his first career win in a 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.
  • In his second career NHL start, he stopped all 28 shots for a 1-0 overtime win at Detroit for his first NHL shutout… The game was also the Flyers final game at Detroit's Joe Louis Arena.
  • Overall, he appeared in seven games for the Flyers in 2016-17 posting a 2-1-1 record with a 2.07 GAA and .928 save percentage.


  • He made his NHL debut Oct. 18 at Chicago and recorded his first goal in the NHL on Nov. 2 at Detroit
  • Overall, he posted four goals and two assists for six points in 47 games, while averaging 9:43 of ice time. 


  • Vecchione made his NHL debut with the Flyers on Apr. 4 at New Jersey and played in the season finale, Apr. 9 vs. Carolina… He recorded one shot on goal and averaged 8:30 of ice time.
  • For Union College in 2016-17, he recorded 29 goals and 34 assists for 63 points, all of which are new career highs to lead his team, and finished tied for first among all NCAA Players.
