Flyers Legends Bob Clarke and Dave Schultz Signature Wine
/ Philadelphia Flyers
Prior to the Flyers-Thrashers game, Flyers legends Bob Clarke and Dave Schultz will debut their signature wine for hockey fans and wine enthusiasts during a private event in the Cadillac Grille at the Wachovia Center. The NHL Alumni Associations' Signature Wine Series features Bob Clarke's 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon and Dave Schultz's 2007 Chardonnay.
The wine, produced in California by Ironstone Vineyards, will be available in retail stores and restaurants throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, and by the glass in the Cadillac Grille at the Wachovia Center. For every bottle of wine sold, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the charity of each alums choice. Clarke will be donating his proceeds to the American and Canadian Diabetes Associations, which provides diabetes research, information and advocacy. Schultz will be donating his proceeds to Katie's Krusaders, founded in memory of Katie Ann Duffin, to raise funds and awareness of the incidence of cancer in children.
The NHL Alumni Signature Wine Series™ is the result of a collaboration between the NHL Alumni Association, prestigious alumni, Ironstone Vineyards and Artemis Sports Group. The series boasts 12 bottles of wine all bearing a beautiful gold-relief likeness of some of hockey's greatest legends. The NHL Alumni Signature Wine Series™ program is delighted to be donating portions of the proceeds from the sale of this wine to 11 different charities chosen by the players, their six respective Alumni Associations and the NHL Alumni Association’s "Hockey’s Greatest Family Fund."
