by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers rookies will face off against the New York Islanders rookies in a prospect game on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at the Islanders practice facility, Northwell Health Ice Center, in East Meadow, NY at 6 p.m.

The game is marks the unofficial end to Rookie Camp and is expected to feature many of the Flyers and Islanders recent draft picks battling in front of management and fans before each team’s main camp opens.

This marks the first rookie game since the 2014 Rookie Camp when the club took on the Washington Capitals rookies. The Flyers-Capitals had played a rookie game to end camp seven times from 2007-2014 with players such as Claude Giroux, Sean Couturier, Scott Laughton, Shayne Gostisbehere, Sam Morin and Travis Sanheim all participating in the past.
