Flyers host Rangers in final preseason home game

Watch the first of a preseason home-and-home series on CSN tonight at 7 pm

by @NHLFlyers

* Tonight is sixth preseason game, and last home game of the preseason for the Flyers, who are 2-2-1 overall and 2-0-1 on home ice this preseason.

* Brayden Schenn and Travis Konecny will both be in the lineup tonight for the Flyers… They share the lead with three points (1g-2a) each in the preseason thus far.

* Konecny was taking line rushes in the morning skate on the left side with Claude Giroux at center and Brayden Schenn on the right wing.

* This is just the fourth preseason game for the Rangers, who are 2-1-0, and have averaged four goals per-game in the preseason thus far.

* The Rangers are led by Brandon Pirri (3g-2a) and Mika Zibanejad (2g-3a) who each have five points in two preseason games.

* This is the first of a home-and-home series vs. Rangers as the Flyers will travel to Madison Square Garden in New York on Thursday… In each of the last two years the Flyers and Rangers have split victories in the preseason with each team winning on home ice.

* Both Claude Giroux and Radko Gudas will see their first action of the preseason.

"I feel great and I'm ready to get the season going," said Giroux, who got back into town on Sunday night from the World Cup Tournament. "It's been a long summer and it's the first day here with the boys so it's good to be back in the locker room."

"He absolutely wanted to play and I think it's good for our team and good for him to get in tonight," said Flyers head coach Dave Hakstol. "We have three [games] left, whether or not he gets into all three we'll gauge that over the next couple of days but it will be good to get him back in there tonight and good to get him back into our locker room."

* The Flyers penalty killing unit has allowed just one goal while shorthanded this preseason (19-for-20) at 95 percent.
