TOP HIGH SCHOOL HOCKEY TEAMS COMPETE IN
34th ANNUAL FLYERS CUP SCHOLASTIC CHAMPIONSHIPS
The top 55 High School hockey teams from the greater Philadelphia region are competing for the 34th Annual Flyers Cup Scholastic Championships through Tuesday, March 19. Defending Triple A champion La LaSalle takes on Holy Ghost Prep at the Wells Fargo Center on March 12 beginning at 7 p.m.
Teams have been separated into four tiers (AAA, AA, A and Girls). Participating leagues include the Inter-County Scholastic Hockey League (ICSHL), Suburban High School Hockey League (SHSHL), South Jersey High School Ice Hockey League (SJHSHL), Central Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (CPIHL), and the Lehigh Valley Scholastic Hockey League (LVSHL).
The top-seeded teams in each division are:
AAA – La Salle College High School (two-time defending AAA Cup Champions)
AA – Central Bucks South
A – West Chester East
Girls – Downingtown East
Championship Games in each division will take place on the following dates:
AAA Final – #1 La Salle vs. #2 Holy Ghost Prep, Tuesday, March 12 at 7:00 p.m. (Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia) (TV – TCN)
AA Final – Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. (Warwick Ice Arena, Warminster, PA)
A Final – Monday, March 18 at 6:30 p.m. (Ice Line, West Chester, PA)
Girls Final – Monday, March 18 at 8:45 p.m. (Ice Line, West Chester, PA).
The champions from each boys division will face the division winners of the Western Pennsylvania Penguins Cup in the Pennsylvania State Championships taking place at IceWorks in Aston on Saturday, March 23.
