Flyers Announce TV Schedule

by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers announced that all 82 of their 2005-06 regular season games will be locally televised. Comcast SportsNet will televise 61 games and UPN-57 WPSG-TV will televise 10 games. In addition, OLN will televise seven games exclusively in the local market and NBC's exclusive coverage of the National Hockey League on Saturday afternoon will include four Flyers contests on a regional basis.

In addition to its regular season coverage, Comcast SportsNet will also televise the preseason game on Thursday, September 29, between the Flyers and the New Jersey Devils at the Wachovia Center at 7:00 p.m.

Jim Jackson, Steve Coates and Gary Dornhoefer will return for the seventh consecutive season as the Flyers television team and will call the action for both the Comcast SportsNet and UPN-57 broadcasts. For six straight years, Jackson was nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award in the category of Individual Achievement - Sports Play-By-Play/Color Commentary, winning three times (1999, 2001 and 2002). Comcast SportsNet's coverage of the Flyers, led by Executive Producer/Director Bryan Cooper, has been nominated for a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award in the category of Live Sports Coverage/Series in five of the past seven years, winning in 2000 and 2004.

Comcast SportsNet currently consists of four regional sports networks servicing the Philadelphia, Washington, Baltimore, Chicago, and Northern and Central Calfornia television markets. Together, the four networks reach over 11 million households and provide game coverage for the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, Washington Capitals, and Chicago Blackhawks; the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, Washington Wizards, Chicago Bulls, and Sacramento Kings; and MLB's Philadelphia Phillies, Baltimore Orioles, Chicago Cubs, and Chicago White Sox.

UPN-57 WPSG-TV is in its seventh season as a local broadcast outlet for Flyers games.
