The Philadelphia Flyers, in conjunction with broadcast partners Comcast SportsNet and Greater Media, have finalized their broadcast plans for the 2013-14 season. Updated Flyers Schedule (PDF)
Once again this season, Comcast SportsNet will serve as the primary home for Philadelphia Flyers telecasts, with the network carrying 63 regular season games. On eight occasions over the course of the season, Flyers games will air on The Comcast Network. Comcast SportsNet’s award-winning broadcast team of play-by-play voice Jim Jackson, color analysts Keith Jones and Bill Clement, and rinkside analyst Steve Coates all return this season, with the network’s technical crew once again led by longtime producer Bryan Cooper. All games will be broadcast in high definition.
The remaining 11 games will be national broadcasts on NBC or the NBC Sports Network. This schedule includes an NBC broadcast at Pittsburgh on Saturday, April 12 and four other occasions where the Flyers are available for selection by NBC as part of the network’s flex-scheduling option. Any games not selected will be aired on the NBC Sports Network, as well as six other games throughout the season that are already pre-selected for the network.
The Flyers are entering their second season with 97.5 FM The Fanatic as their primary radio home, with play-by-play voice Tim Saunders and color analyst Chris Therien returning again this season. The Fanatic will carry 64 regular season games, with the remaining 18 games airing on Greater Media sister station 93.3 WMMR due to scheduling conflicts.
Flyers fans will be able to follow the team’s entire preseason schedule via TV, radio or webcast this season. Three preseason games will be televised locally – the Sept. 15 game vs. Toronto at London, Ontario will be on CSN, while the Sept. 18 game vs. the NY Rangers; and the Sept. 24 game vs. New Jersey will both air on TCN. Six of the seven preseason games will air on 97.5 The Fanatic.
On September 16, the Flyers will take part in a split-squad doubleheader, with simultaneous 7:00pm starts at home vs. Washington and in Toronto vs. the Maple Leafs. The game at Toronto will be broadcast on 97.5 The Fanatic, and the home game vs. Washington will be available to fans via a webcast on Philadelphiaflyers.com.
