The Philadelphia Flyers announced today the schedule of events for their annual excursion to the Jersey Shore, Trial on the Isle, presented by AAA. This family-friendly day, set for Wednesday, July 12 in Stone Harbor, NJ, welcomes all Flyers prospects (and fans) to take to the sand and surf as a part of the final day of the team's development camp.
The day's events will take place as follows:
9:15 a.m. - Prospect Beach Activities, 96th St. Beach
10:15 a.m. - Team Games, 80th St. Recreation Field
12:30 p.m. - Clinic for Kids, Stone Harbor Elementary School
1:15 p.m. - Prospect Autograph Session, Stone Harbor Elementary School
3:30 p.m. - Beach Volleyball Tournament, 96th St. Beach
Trial on the Isle, presented by AAA activities will begin at 9:15 a.m. with warm-ups and team building exercises at 96th St. Beach, including an annual prospect sand sculpture building contest. Players will then race along the beach to 80th St., advancing each block only when beach drills such as Frisbee toss, home run derby, and potato sack races are complete. Prospects will end the morning's activities with a bubble soccer game at 80th St. Recreation Field.
At 12:30 p.m., Flyers prospects Nolan Patrick, German Rubtsov, and Travis Sanheim, as well as Lehigh Valley Phantoms player Will O'Neill, will host a free street hockey clinic for young fans at Stone Harbor Elementary School (275 93rd Street).
All participating Trial on the Isle, presented by AAA prospects will be available to sign autographs at the school beginning at 1:15 p.m. Admission to the signing is $10. Proceeds will go to American Legion Post 331, based out of Stone Harbor. A limited number of sun visors will be available to AAA members attending the session, courtesy of AAA.
Trial on the Isle, presented by AAA wraps up back on 96th Street Beach with a prospect volleyball tournament at 3:30 p.m.
Trial on the Isle, presented by AAA, which concludes the team's annual development camp, is led by Head Athletic Trainer/Director of Sports Medicine, Jim McCrossin.
