The Philadelphia Flyers and Flyers Skate Zone announced today that the club known as Virtua Hockey, a Tier I "AAA" Youth Hockey Club based out of the Virtua Health Flyers Skate Zone in Pennsauken, New Jersey, will be officially rebranded as the Philadelphia Flyers Elite. This rebranding, which will start with the 2020-21 youth hockey season, will work to closer align the youth program with its parent club.
The name Flyers Elite comes with a storied history of development, achievement, and success in the youth hockey community. The Club boasts 12 alumni selected in the NHL Entry Draft and more than 80 players with NCAA Division I scholarship commitments. Notable alumni of the program include current NHL players Johnny Gaudreau (Calgary Flames), Kasperi Kapanen (Toronto Maple Leafs), and Eric Robinson (Columbus Blue Jackets).
