Today, the Philadelphia Flyers announced their plans to celebrate Black History Month, starting with tonight's home game vs. the Winnipeg Jets at 7 p.m. Throughout the month of February, the Flyers will recognize and celebrate individuals and organizations from Philadelphia's Black community and help to promote the NHL's league-wide "Hockey is For Everyone" initiative.

To kick off to Black History Month, during tonight's home game, the Flyers will recognize Aunyea Lachelle, local TV personality and host of NBC10's Philly Live, who will lead the Flyers' "Bring the Noise" pre-game drum tradition. The Flyers will also host Dr. Ala Stanford, founder of the Black Doctor's COVID-19 Consortium (BDCC) to perform the ceremonial puck drop of the game - the Flyers partnered with Dr. Stanford and BDCC earlier this season to launch their Take Your Shot COVID-19 vaccination campaign. During warmups, Flyers players will also use sticks wrapped with special #TapeOutHate tape, inspired by the anti-racism campaign launched in partnership with the Hockey Diversity Alliance and Budweiser Canada.

The Flyers will also host the NHL's Black Hockey History Museum tour outside Wells Fargo Center ahead of the team's home game on Monday, February 21. This uniquely curated mobile museum will features:
