by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers
The Philadelphia Flyers today released their 2016-17 preseason schedule, according to general manager Ron Hextall.

The Flyers will play an eight-game preseason slate this year, with the first four games taking place over the span of three nights. It will begin on Monday, September 26 with a split-squad evening that will see the Flyers send one squad to Prudential Center to take on the New Jersey Devils, while another will head to Brooklyn to play the New York Islanders at Barclays Center.
The following evening, the Flyers will play the Islanders in the first of three preseason games to take place at the Wells Fargo Center. Then on Wednesday, September 28, the Flyers will play New Jersey in Allentown, PA at PPL Center, the home of their American Hockey League affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. It marks the second consecutive preseason that the Flyers are making a visit to the Lehigh Valley.
The remaining four games will consist of home-and-home sets against the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. The Flyers are home against those two clubs on October 1 and 3, respectively, before visiting Madison Square Garden on October 6 and TD Garden on October 8.
