The National Sports Forum has nominated the Philadelphia Flyers and their advertising agency, 3601 Creative Group, for their "Back Where We Belong" television commercial as a finalist for the 2006 NSF ADchievement Award in the "Best Television" category.
The "Back Where We Belong" commercial was created and produced by Flyers parent company Comcast-Spectacor's in-house advertising agency, 3601 Creative Group, which also handles production of similar content for all of the company's entities, which also include the Philadelphia 76ers, Phantoms and Wachovia Complex.
"This year's competition was by far the strongest it's ever been as our independent panel of judges looked through hundreds of submissions to select the finalists," said Ron Seaver, President of the National Sports Forum. "Being named a finalist is a testament to the outstanding work of 3601 Creative Group. We look forward to seeing the Flyers go for top honors in their hometown at the 2006 National Sports Forum."
The winner will be announced during the National Sports Forum's annual conference, which will be held this year at the Loew's Hotel in Philadelphia, PA, (January 30 through February 1, 2006). The Forum is comprised of sports marketers from all professional sports leagues throughout the United States and Canada.
"We are honored to be a finalist and our creative team has been a key factor in helping us develop a comprehensive brand strategy for this season," said Vice President, Marketing and Communications, Shawn Tilger. "We are thrilled to see them recognized for their hard work and extreme creativity."
"We tried to remind fans of the excitement of Flyers hockey while building anticipation and awareness of the return of the National Hockey League," said 3601 Creative Group Vice President Peggy Moroz. "It's an honor to be recognized amongst so many of our peers throughout the industry."
The other finalists include Arizona State University, Corpus Christi Hooks, National Hockey League (Conductor), San Francisco 49ers and the University of Washington Basketball (Dave Syferd & Partners).
3601 Creative Group is a full-service, innovative marketing communications agency responsible for creating, developing and implementing all electronic and print advertising, as well as promotional materials for all of Comcast-Spectacor's entities and other clients in the Philadelphia region and throughout the country.
The National Sports Forum is overseen by a diverse Steering Committee of team, league, and industry leaders - peers that share a universal interest in meeting and learning from one another. It is the largest annual cross gathering of the top team sports marketing, sales, promotions and event entertainment executives - from throughout the broad spectrum of teams and leagues in North America. Each year the forum members meet for three days of networking, idea sharing and listening to the industry's top spokespeople, through numerous breakout sessions, panel discussions, networking events and keynote speeches. For the first time ever, Philadelphia will host the meetings from Monday, January 30 through Wednesday, February 1, 2006 at the Loews Hotel. The Forum will gather for a reception and tour of Wachovia Center on Wednesday, February 1.
