The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have acquired forward Cam Atkinson from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for Jakub Voracek, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager Chuck Fletcher.

* Atkinson is entering the fourth year of a seven-year contract worth 5.875M Average Annual Value (AAV).

* Last season (2020-21), Atkinson posted 34 points (15g-19a) in 56 regular season games for the Blue Jackets, which ranked second on the team.

* His 15 goals and 34 points ranked second on the team and he led Columbus in shorthanded goals (4), which also T-2nd among all NHL players.

* Since the 2013-14 season, Atkinson has led the Blue Jackets in goals (197) and points (370) and his 16 shorthanded goals rank second among all NHL players.

* Atkinson's best season came in 2018-19 when he posted a career high 41 goals and 69 points in 80 games and was named to the mid-season NHL All-Star Team.

* Over parts of 10 NHL seasons, all with the Blue Jackets, Atkinson has recorded 213 goals and 189 assists for 402 points in 627 regular season games.

* In addition, Atkinson has posted 26 points (10g-16a) in 35 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.

* Prior to turning professional, he spent three seasons at Boston College where he helped the Eagles win the NCAA Championship in 2010.

* At Boston College, he posted 68 goals and 56 assists for 124 points in 117 games and was named a Hobey Baker Award finalist as Top Collegiate Player in 2011.

* He was teammates with current Flyer Kevin Hayes during the 2010-11 season at Boston College.

Voracek departs the Flyers after spending the last 10 seasons with the Flyers, where he has posted 177 goals and 427 assists for 604 points in 727 regular season games.

* His 427 assists rank fifth in Flyers history, as does his 162 power-play assists.

* His 727 games played and 604 points both rank 10th all-time in club history.

* He also added 27 points (9g-18a) in 45 Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Flyers.

* He led, or co-led, the Flyers during the regular season in scoring on three occasions (2014-15, 2016-17 & 2020-21).

* Voracek was named to the 2015 mid-season NHL All-Star Game and 1st Team, Right Wing by the NHL at the end of the 2014-15 season when he recorded 81 points (22g-59a).

* Voracek has won several Flyers team awards during his tenure, most notably the Bobby Clarke Trophy as the Flyers most valuable player on two occasions in 2013 & 2015.

* He won the Pelle Lindbergh Memorial Trophy as Most Improved Flyer in 2013, the Yanick Dupre "Class Guy" Memorial Award in 2014 and the Gene Hart Memorial Award as the Flyer who plays with the most "Heart" as voted by the Flyers official fan club in 2015.
