The Flyers are looking to snap a three-game winless skid in which they have scored just five goals after coming off a three-game winning streak where they scored 14 goals… The Flyers have scored a goal on the power play in eight of their last nine games, going 11-for-41… Wayne Simmonds leads the team with 19 goals, nine of which have come in the last 12 games… He is looking for his third straight 20-goal season, and fourth 20-goals season in his five years with the Flyers with the only non-20 goal season coming in the 48-game lockout year… Claude Giroux has four goals and 12 assists for 16 points in his last 14 games, while Brayden Schenn has has four goals and three assists for seven points in his last eight games.

The Sabres come into tonight’s game having dropped three straight, but earning points in two of the three (0-1-2)… Despite being in 27th place in the NHL, the Sabres have the sixth best power-play in the league at 21.1 percent, and the fourth-best power play on the road at 23.3 percent… Ryan O’Reilly leads the team in goals (17) and overall points (45) and is currently on a four-game point streak with five assists… The two Sabres rookies, both of which are the #2 over picks in the last two NHL drafts, Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart, are tied for second on the team with 16 goals apiece, while leading the team in game-winning goals (3)… The Sabres have only two wins on the road against Metropolitan Division opponents, the Flyers (Oct. 27) and Islanders (Nov. 1).
This is the third and final meeting of the year against the Sabres, who won the previous two meetings in a span of four days in October (Oct. 27 & 30)… The Flyers will be looking to avoid the first season series sweep by the Sabres in 13 years, since going 0-4-0 in the 2001-02 season… The Flyers have scored three of their four goals in the third period in the season series… Ryan O’Reilly has four points (1g-3a) in two games of the season series, while Brayden Schenn leads the Flyers with two goals in the season series… Tonight is the 170th all-time meeting against the Sabres with the Flyers looking for their 84th victory, posting an 83-58-20-6 record since 1970-71… 50 of the 83 wins have come on home ice.
All eyes will be on Gostisbehere, who will be looking to tie a franchise record of 10-game point streak by a rookie, set in 93-94 by Mikael Renberg… Gostisbehere currently has a nine-game point streak, which is the longest active streak in the NHL, the longest streak overall this season by a rookie and tied for the fifth longest streak overall in the NHL this season… He has 10 assists and 11 points in that stretch… His 28 overall points are fifth on the Flyers and fifth among all NHL rookies. Tonight will be the first look at Evander Kane in a Sabres uniform against the Flyers… Although he went scoreless in his last meeting against the Flyers, Jan. 29 with the Winnipeg Jets, Kane averages nearly a point per-game with 15 points (5g-10a) in 16 games… This season, Kane has 13 goals and 21 points in 44 games after missing the first 10 games of the season with a knee injury, but leads the team with 65 penalty minutes… He has three goals in his last five games.
