by Staff Writer / Philadelphia Flyers

Today’s game kicks off seven games in a span of 12 days before the Flyers break for the All-Star weekend… It also marks the first of games on back-to-back days for the Flyers - the only set of back-to-backs in this seven-game span - as the club travels to Detroit on Sunday… All seven games are against Eastern Conference opponents… The Flyers are riding a four-game winning streak and have scored an average of 3.75 goals-per-game and have had 11 different players record at least one goal… They are looking for their fifth straight win for the first time since Mar. 15-22 during the 2013-14 season… The Flyers are tied for the third longest winning streak in the NHL at four straight victories.

The Flyers are riding a six-game winning streak on home ice, dating back to Dec. 15 - in their six-game streak at home, they are led by Jakub Voracek, who has nine points (2g-7a), while Sean Couturier and Wayne Simmonds lead the squad with four goals… Couturier leads with a plus-9 rating in the six games while the Flyers as a whole have a plus-minus rating of plus-51… The Flyers have also gone 8-1-3 on home ice since Nov. 17 and overall have 11 of their 18 wins with an 11-5-4 record at the Wells Fargo Center… Against the Rangers, the Flyers have won two straight and five of their last six meetings at home.

The Rangers come into today’s game having dropped 10 of their last 11 road games, going 1-8-2, including their last game, a 3-1 loss at Islanders… Overall, they have not won back-to-back games in nearly two months with the last time coming Nov. 21-23… The Rangers rank fourth overall in the NHL in scoring, averaging 2.86 goals-per-game, and third in the NHL in third-period goals (50)… The Rangers have earned at least one point in 33 of their last 40 games against Metropolitan Division opponents, going 28-7-5… The Rangers have not scored a goal on the power-play in their last seven games… Mats Zuccarello leads the Rangers in both goals (16) and overall scoring with 32 points through 43 games this season.

So far in just two games of the season series Simmonds has four points (2g-2a), and a plus-4 rating and eight shots on goal… In the course of his career, Simmonds has 10 goals and 17 points in 25 games against the Blueshirts… After recording the game-tying goal in the last game against the Bruins, he comes into tonight’s game with points in six of his last 10 games… He ranks third overall on the team in scoring with 23 points, while sitting in second on the squad with 11 goals, one behind leader, Claude Giroux… The Flyers also have a perfect 9-0-0 record in games that Simmonds scores a goal.

Henrik Lundqvist has 19 of the Rangers’ 23 wins on the year - he is one win away from recording 11 straight 20-win seasons to begin his career - his 10-straight 20-win seasons are an NHL record… He is 19-12-4 with a 2.48 GAA and .920 save percentage and will be making his 11th straight start in net today… He is the Rangers all-time leader in wins (358) and shutouts (57), and has over 20,000 saves in his NHL career (20,059)… Against the Flyers, Lundqvist has a 28-13-4 record in 47 appearances, but in his last 18 appearances since Mar. 6, 2011, he has posted a 14-3-1 record, along with a 1.83 GAA and a .941 save percentage against Philly.
