FIVE THINGS: Flyers vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

The Flyers come into tonight having dropped back-to-back games in regulation for the first time in over two months, since Jan. 23-25… Despite two straight losses, the Flyers are 12-4-1 since Feb. 1 and own a 9-3-0 record in their last 12 games on home ice… Toronto comes into tonight on a season-high six-game losing skid, where they have gone 0-6-0 and have failed to score more than three goals since they last faced the Flyers on Mar. 8, a span of nine games… This is the third and final meeting of the year against Toronto - The Flyers are 0-1-1 in the season series and have not gone winless in the season series since 2006-07 (0-3-1) which was one of three times in franchise history they have gone winless against the Maple Leafs (93-94 & 80-81)… The Flyers have lost four of their last five games to Toronto, going 1-3-1, and have dropped two straight at home against the Maple Leafs, last winning on Feb. 9, 2012.

The Flyers have gone two straight games without a power-play goal - when doing so however, the Flyers have won the last 10 games when they have scored on the man-advantage, going 10-0-0 since Feb. 1, and own a 2-4-1 mark in games in which they have failed to score a goal on the power play… Overall, the Flyers have a 24-13-14 record in games which they have scored on the power play and 14-14-3 mark when they don't… Despite losing six straight, the Maple Leafs have recorded a goal on the power play in three straight games and four of their last five, going 4-for-16, in that span… The Flyers are 19.5% (51-for-262) on the power play this year to rank 10th overall in the NHL, while the Maple Leafs rank third overall in the NHL on the power play at 21%, going (48-for-229).

Claude Giroux has five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 12 games during March, which is tied for the NHL lead (DAL: Seguin) - he ranks tied for fourth in the NHL, also with Seguin, with 75 points (24g-51a) … David Clarkson leads all Toronto players in career games played (34), points (15) and penalty minutes (98) against the Flyers… The Flyers have killed off their last 12 penalties over their last three games, and over their last nine games, have allowed just one power-play goal to the opposition, killing off 32 of 33 power plays… The Flyers are tied for second in the NHL in scoring third period goals (82), while Toronto is tied for fifth in the NHL, scoring 75 third-period goals… Vincent Lecavalier is two goals shy of reaching 400 in the NHL… The Maple Leafs are 9-4 in shootouts this season with Joffrey Lupul going 6-for-7 in attempts, while the Flyers are 3-5 in shootouts and Claude Giroux leading the team, going 4-for-8.

Voracek recorded his 100th career goal in the NHL in Wednesday's loss to the Rangers, which also extended his point streak to four straight games where he has three goals and five points… Since Mar. 2, Voracek has recorded at least a point in nine of his last 11 games for a total of 14 points (6g-8a) during that stretch… Voracek set a new career-high for points in a season (54) and is one goal and one assist shy of tying his career high in those respective categories… Voracek's 33 assists rank second on the Flyers and his 54 points tie him for second on the team (with Wayne Simmonds)… Against Toronto, he has two assists in two games this year and eight points (3g-5a) in 10 career games against the Leafs. Lupul has points in four of his last six games, posting two goals and five points in that span… He ranks third on the Maple Leafs in goals (21) and is tied for fifth with 43 points in 65 games for Toronto… Lupul recorded the game-winner in overtime in the last meeting between the two teams, a 4-3 OT win on Mar. 8 and leads Toronto with four points (1g-3a) in two games of the series this year… Lifetime, Lupul averages over a point per-game with 10 points (3g-7a) in nine career games against the Flyers… Lupul is four games shy of 600 NHL games played, he has 596 entering tonight.
