Gagner has five points (2g-3a) in nine games this year for the Flyers and has a plus-minus rating of +3, which is tied for the team lead, while averaging 13:39 of ice time per-game… Gagner was drafted sixth overall by the Oilers in 2007 and spent the first seven years of his NHL career with Edmonton, where he recorded 295 points in 480 games… Since being traded in 2014, Gagner has faced his former team five times and averages a point per-game against the Oilers with two goals and three assists for five points.
The No. 1 overall pick in last year’s draft, who is considered to be a generational player, is living up to those expectations early on… He was named the NHL’s Rookie of the Month and leads all rookies in scoring with 12 points (5g-7a) in 12 games… He ranks second on the team in scoring, only behind Taylor Hall’s 13 points… He also recorded a seven-game point streak from Oct. 17-29, where he posted seven assists and 11 points in that stretch… The 18-year-old spent his last season in junior with the OHL’s Erie Otters where he recorded 44 goals and 76 assists for 120 points in just 47 games, while adding 49 points (21g-28a) in just 20 OHL Playoff games.
