1. FIGHT TO .500
At 9-10-2 the Flyers come into tonight's game with a chance to hit the .500 mark for the first time since the second game of the season on Oct. 5… They are three points out of third place in the Metropolitan Division with a game in-hand on the two teams above them in the standings (NY Rangers & NJ Devils)… The Flyers have earned a point in the standings in each of their last six games, going 5-0-1 in that span… During that streak the Flyers have scored an average of 3.6 goals-per-game, outscoring their opponent by a 22-8 margin… The Flyers have scored at least one goal on the power-play in five of the six games, including their last five games, going 6-for-19 (31.5%) in the last five… The Flyers will also be looking for their fourth straight home win for the first time since Mar. 1-18, 2012 when they won five straight at home.

This is the second meeting of the year with the Islanders and first on home-ice for the Flyers, who took a 5-2 victory in Long Island on Oct. 26 where Vinny Lecavalier posted a hat trick… The Flyers have dominated on home-ice against the Islanders, owning a 15-1-2 mark since 2007-08 season, which included winning 13 straight games from Oct. 13, 2007-Apr. 9, 2011… Overall, they have a 73-33-11-4 record for a .665 winning percentage in Philadelphia… The Islanders come into tonight's game having played last night in Pittsburgh in which they lost by a score of 4-3 in the last minutes to a goal from Sidney Crosby… The Islanders have dropped seven of their last nine games, six of the seven losses   have been on the road.

During the Flyers six-game point streak, four players have averaged at least a point-per-game (Giroux, Voracek & B. Schenn with six points; Downie with five points)… Steve Mason & Ray Emery have combined for a 1.31 goals-against average and a .956 save percentage in the last six games… The Islanders have scored 54 percent (34-of-63) of their goals in the second period… NYI's Casey Cizikas has points in his last four games, including three goals in that span… Following tonight's game, the Flyers will play eight of their next nine games on the road.

4. Player to watch FLYERS: Vincent Lecavalier - (C) #40
Lecavalier has points in two straight games and four of his last six for the Flyers, posting three goals and five points in that span… He leads the Flyers with eight goals on the year, including four goals on the power-play… He posted a hat trick, including the game-winner, in the Flyers' 5-2 win over the Islanders earlier this season… In his career, Lecavalier has 26 goals and 49 points in 51 games against the Islanders.

5. Player to watch NY ISLANDERS: John Tavares - (C) #91
The Islanders captain has been their top point producer with 26 points (9g-17a) in 23 games… Tavares has recorded at least a point in 19 of his 23 games on the season, including a point in six of his last seven games for a total of nine points (2g-7a) in that stretch… He also has appeared in 230 consecutive regular-season games to lead the Islanders Iron-Man streak… Against the Flyers, Tavares has nine goals and 18 points in 23 career games.

"It would be great to go 3-0 on this homestand. We had a good road trip and to be able to come home with some pretty solid play so far and have that continue is what we need to get ourselves back in the playoff picture and we're slowly achieving that goal."
