T he Flyers and Rangers meet for the fourth and final time this season and first time in 92 days - since Nov. 29 when they met three times in a span of 11 days… The Flyers are looking for their first win of the season, dropping all three contests by a combined score of 10-2 with two shutouts… The Flyers will look to avoid getting swept in the season series to the Rangers for the second time in the last five seasons… Despite dropping the first three games, the Flyers have won four of their last six games on home ice against the Rangers… Jakub Voracek (1g-1a) and Brayden Schenn (2a) have two points each in the series to lead the Flyers, while Derek Stepan leads the Rangers with five points, all assists, in three games against the Flyers this season .

The Flyers return home after dropping two straight games in regulation for the first time since Jan. 14-15, going 9-4-4 in the 17 games since then… The Flyers are six points back of the final Wild Card position in the Eastern Conference behind the Bruins… The Flyers have 17 of their 26 victories at home and have won two straight home games, and earned at least a point in the standings in eight of their last nine games, going 6-1—2… The Rangers come in one of the hottest teams in the NHL, earning points in 10 straight games, riding a four-game winning streak and winning eight of their last nine games to surge to within two points of the Metropolitan Division lead… Seven of the 10 games have been one-goal games .

he Flyers defense picked up three points (1g-2a) at Toronto marking the eighth straight game they have received offense from the blue line, posting 16 points (4g-12a) in that span… The Flyers defense has also produced at least a point in 16 of their last 17 contests for a total of 13 goals and 24 assists for 37 points in that span… The Rangers have the second-best goals-per-game output in the NHL, averaging 3.12, while also owning the fourth-best goals-against per-game, allowing 2.38 through 60 games… Neither team has lost in regulation when leading after the second period: Rangers are 26-0-1 and Flyers are 14-0-3… Martin St. Louis averages over a point-per-game against the Flyers with 45 assists and 61 points in 49 games… Rick Nash ranks second overall in the NHL with 37 goals, two behind Caps’ Ovechkin… Michael Del Zotto has six points (2g-4a) in his last seven games .

C oming off a two-point game at Toronto, Giroux is tied for 11th in scoring in the NHL at 59 points and in the Top 5 in assists with 41 helpers… Giroux has four points (2g-2a) in his last three games, all of which have come on the power play… He leads all players in the NHL on the man-advantage, recording 31 points, and set a new career-high with 11 power-play goals this season… He ranks second among all NHL forwards in time-on-ice per game at 20:52 (seven seconds less than Oilers; Ryan Nugent-Hopkins)… Against the Rangers, Giroux has 25 assists and 31 points in 35 career games, the second-most points he has against any other team in the NHL (NYI: 35pts).

S ince an injury to starter Henrik Lundqvist, Talbot has taken the reigns for the Rangers starting 11 of their last 12 games and going 8-1-2 with a 2.78 goals-against average and .905 save percentage in the process… He started eight straight games (Feb. 4-19) becoming the first Rangers goaltender other than Lundqvist to start eight straight in over 10 years (Mike Dunham - 2004)… Talbot has also been perfect against the Flyers this season, going 2-0-0 with both games being shutouts, stopping all 57 shots he has faced… In his career, Talbot is 2-1-0 in three appearances, posting a .976 save percentage and 0.67 GAA.
