T he Flyers will induct Eric Desjardins as the 23rd member of the Flyers Hall of Fame tonight… By the numbers, Desjardins posted 93 goals, 303 assists for 396 points as a Flyer to rank second all-time in Flyers history in each category behind only Mark Howe… He ranks eighth all time in games played as a Flyer (738) which is third among all Flyers defenseman behind Howe (2nd) and his longtime defensive partner, Chris Therien (1st: 753)… Desjardins was named the 12th captain in team history on Mar. 27, 2000 and owns the Flyers record for most team awards won, winning the Barry Ashbee Trophy seven times, and being named to the NHL’s All-Star team twice with the Flyers… Desjardins was acquired by the Flyers (along with John LeClair & Gilbert Dionne) from the Montreal Canadiens on February 9, 1995 in exchange for Mark Recchi and a 3rd-round pick in the 1995 NHL Entry Draft .

T he Flyers will look to sweep the season series against the Sabres tonight for the second consecutive year… They went 3-0-0 last season and won the first two meetings this season to own a five-game winning streak… It would be the first time in franchise history that the Flyers won every game of the season for two straight years, dating back to the 1970-71 season when the Sabres entered the NHL… Both games this season have been decided by one goal… The Flyers also own a five-game winning streak over the Sabres on home ice with their last loss coming in 2011 (Mar. 5)…  Michael Del Zotto leads the Flyers against the Sabres with three assists in the two games, while All-Star starter, Zemgus Girgenson, leads Buffalo with two goals in the previous two meetings .

D espite snapping their nine-game point streak in Tuesday loss to Columbus, the Flyers are 6-1-3 in their last 10 games and are seven points back of Boston for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference… The Flyers have allowed just two goals in the first period in the last seven games, with both goals coming last game to Columbus, and have scored in the first period in eight of their last 10 games for a total of nine goals… The Sabres are last in the NHL in goals-per-game at 1.74 and are the only team in the NHL who has not recorded over 100 goals with 99 through 57 games played… The Sabres are 2-18-1 in their last 21 games… Buffalo captain Brian Gionta needs one point to become the 49th American player in NHL history to record 500 career points… The Flyers continue to have the NHL’s second-best power play at home (27.2%), however they have gone three straight home games without a power-play goal, but have only had five power-play opportunities in those three games combined .

R affl appeared on the top line with Giroux and Voracek towards the end of last game and remained on the top line through practice… Raffl scored the game-winning goal in the third period in the last meeting with the Sabres, five days ago, which was also his first game back in the lineup after a small bout of pneumonia that caused him to miss seven games… In the season series, Raffl has two goals in two games against the Sabres this year… In his second year in the NHL and with the Flyers, he ranks fourth on the team with 13 goals and his tied for the team lead in plus-minus at +6 in 42 games .

Bogosian has led the Sabres in ice-time for both of his games since coming over in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets with 24:49 vs. Flyers on Sunday and nearly 30 minutes (29:14) against New Jersey on Tuesday, which was also a season high and most minutes in over three years… Coming over from the Jets, Bogosian’s 13 points (3g-10a) are tied for the most by a Sabres defenseman and is the only Sabres player with a plus-minus over (0) at +1… Against the Flyers in his career, he has one goal in 18 games.
