Date is set for annual 5K benefiting Flyers Charities

Philadelphia Flyers fans can celebrate the return of hockey season this fall by lacing up their sneakers for the annual Flyers 5K benefiting Flyers Charities, scheduled for October 17, 2015 at the Wells Fargo Center (3601 S. Broad Street, Philadelphia, Pa).


Registration for the annual family-friendly race is now open at PhiladelphiaFlyers.com. Competitive and amateur runners, as well as walkers, are invited to take to Broad Street to race alongside Flyers personalities including Bernie Parent, Todd Fedoruk, the Flyers Wives, Flyers Ice Girls, and more.   

General registration is $40, available now through Wednesday, October 14. Day-of registration is $45.

New this year, runners will receive a commemorative medal, a Flyers 5K t-shirt, and a running bib with racing chip. The top male and female runners in each of four age groups will be awarded a pair of game tickets during the Flyers 2015-16 regular season, as well as an autographed hockey stick.

Proceeds from the race benefit Flyers Charities, which helps support local non-profit organizations in the Greater Philadelphia Region.

8:00 a.m.         Check-in/Registration begins
8:30 a.m.         Warm-up
9:00 a.m.         5K Run begins
10:00 a.m.       Medal Ceremony
