Building Hope For Kids Home Revealed

Sunday, February 12, 2017 was the day we have been waiting and working for! This was the day that Syrianna and her family would see their new home for the first time.
The Flyers Wives, players, and staff, along with Michael's Way, Fastrack Construction, and the local community gathered together early Sunday afternoon outside the family's home in the Mayfair section of Northeast Philadelphia. Even with the steady rain, there was no shortage of energy or emotion as we all helped welcome Syrianna and her family HOME!

As Syrianna and her family arrived at the house, they were greeted with love and support from the entire community. Doreen Holmgren, wife of Flyers President Paul Holmgren, spoke on behalf of Flyers Charities, and Chris McElwee spoke on behalf of Michael's Way and Fastrack Construction. The family was overjoyed by their welcome and so very thankful for the support they have received throughout this journey.

After the ceremonial orange ribbon was cut, the family walked into their new home for the first time. From the new main floorplan with new appliances, to the new furniture provided by Bob's Discount Furniture, to personal family photos accenting the newly painted walls, the family was in awe of the transformation and couldn't help but smile through happy tears.
As Michelle carried Syrianna into the living room, she said, '"I tell myself no matter where life leads you, be ready to get up and go because the hard times only last for a short time, but happiness is forever and this is our happiness."
