TIME: 1:00 p.m. ET | TV: NBCSP | RADIO: 97.5 The Fanatic

presented by The Rothman Institute at Jefferson Hospital

Season Series (2016-17): 1-1-0

All-Time Record: 73gp (33-31-8-1)

Leading Scorers:

PHI: 10-PTS, Gostisbehere (1g-9a), Voracek (10a)

EDM: 8-PTS, McDavid (3g-5a)

The Oilers come to town and with a star-studded lineup headlined by Connor McDavid, the past few meetings have spawned an East-West Conference rivalry… Last season, they split the two game series with each team winning on home home ice and combining for 20 goals in regulation in those two contests… The last meeting in Philadelphia was a see-saw battle that had 11 goals scored with the Flyers ending up on top by a 6-5 score and a four-point night from Jakub Voracek (1g-3a)… The Oilers struck back in Edmonton with a 6-3 victory in February and McDavid posting a three-point game (1g-2a).

Today's game is slated to feature 16 first round draft picks in the lineup, with eight on the Flyers and Oilers, including each team with their most recent first picks this past June - Flyers' Nolan Patrick (2nd overall) and Oilers' Kailer Yamamoto (22nd overall)… Of the 16 first-rounders, nine are Top 10 picks and five are Top 5 picks, including two No. 1 overall (McDavid & Nugent-Hopkins) and one No. 2 overall (Patrick)… This also does not include injured Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl, who went 3rd overall to the Oilers in the 2014 Draft held in Philadelphia.

The Flyers are a perfect 4-0-0 with all four of their wins coming when scoring the first goal, while all three of their losses coming when allowing the opening goal… The Oilers have allowed the first goal to their opponent in four of their first six contests, going 1-3-0 in that scenario… Edmonton also has all four of their losses this year when trailing after the first period… The Flyers have scored just five of their 26 goals on the season in the first period, while the Oilers have just three first-period goals.

The Oilers come in having snapped a four-game losing skid with a 2-1 OT win at Chicago on Thursday… They have scored no more than three goals in a game so far this season… The Flyers are looking to rebound from a shut out loss in their last game, but continue to rank in the Top 5 in goals per-game (3rd - 3.71 GPG) and Top 5 in goals allowed per-game (T-5th - 2.43)… Edmonton has one of the league's worst penalty killing units in the early going, ranking 30th at 74.1 percent, allowing seven goals on 27 times shorthanded.

FLYERS (RW: #93 - Jakub Voracek)

Voraeck leads the Flyers in assists (10) and is tied for the team in overall points with his 10 assists… He went scoreless in Thursday's game, but has not gone scoreless in two straight games so far this season… The Oilers are one of only three teams in the NHL, and only Western Conference team, that Voracek averages a point-per-game pace against with 20 points (4g-16a) in 20 games… Voracek is also two points shy of reaching 500 career points in the NHL.

OILERS (C: #97 - Connor McDavid)

McDavid led the NHL in scoring and was the only player with 100 points last season (30g-70a) in 82 games - he won the Art Ross Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award (Most Outstanding Player) and Hart Trophy (NHL MVP) and was rewarded with an eight-year, $100 million contract thru the 2025-26 season… Currently, he is on a four-game point streak, having posted five assists in that span, but since recording an opening night hat trick, has not scored a goal in five games… Against the Flyers, he has six points (2g-4a) in four games, but five of those points (2g-3a) came in the last two games he has faced Philadelphia.
