1. HERE WE GO… AGAIN

The Flyers complete their fourth set of back-to-back games since the season began 21 days ago on Oct. 14 tonight… They are unbeaten in regulation in the second game of back-to-backs, going 2-0-1 with all three games decided by a one-goal margin… Tonight's game marks the fourth of six straight sets of back-to-backs that the Flyers will be taking on an opponent who did not play the night before… The Flyers have also had five straight games decided by one goal.

 

2. TRIAL ON THE ISLE

This is the third of a five-game homestand for the Islanders, who have all four of their wins at home so far this season… The Isles also have all four of their wins when they out-shoot their opponent, going 4-1-0, and are a perfect 3-0-0 when scoring the first goal of the game… Nearly half of the Islanders goals (13 of 28) have all come in the third period… Leading scorer, Brock Nelson has points in seven of his first 10 games, while captain John Tavares has points in two straight games and four of his last five (3g-3a).

FLYERS (C: #28 - Claude Giroux)

As long as he keeps putting up points, he's your player to watch… Giroux has a new career-high, 10-game point streak, recoring a point in every game since going scoreless in the season opener in LA on Oct. 14… It's the longest streak in the NHL this year and his 11 assists lead in the League outright, while his 13 points are tied for the overall NHL scoring race… Giroux also faces an opponent who he's had good numbers against - he has the most point against the Islanders than any other opponent in his career with 41 points (14g-27a) in 37 games.

ISLANDERS (D: #4 - Dennis Seidenberg)

Has points in each of his last two games with three points (1g-2a) and points in four of his last six games recording three goals and five points in that stretch… Seidenberg also leads the Islanders with a plus-minus rating of +7 through the first 10 games… In his 15th NHL season, the former Flyers draft pick has played 768 regular season games with 229 points and a career +30 rating.

On November 3, 1983, Forward Paul Holmgren becomes the Flyers' all-time penalty minute leader, surpassing Andre "Moose" Dupont who had 1,505 PIM's… Holmgren would end his Flyers career with an even 1,600 penalty minutes, which is now second only to Rick Tocchet's 1,817 PIM's.
