1. THE QUICK TURNAROUND

The Flyers play tonight's game less than 24 hours from last night's game vs. Pittsburgh with the 5 p.m. puck drop… This is the third set of back-to-backs the Flyers are playing and they are 1-0-1 in that scenario with both games going past regulation play… Tonight's game marks the third of six straight back-to-backs in which the Flyers opponent has not played the night before.

2. CANES SPECIAL

The Hurricanes come into tonight's game one of the NHLs best on special teams … They are ranked third in the league on the man advantage at 28 percent, scoring at least a goal on the power-play in five of seven games, and seven of their total of 21 goals have come on the man advantage… Carolina is also in the Top 5 of penalty killing, allowing just three goals on the PK so far this year.

Claude Giroux has an eight-game point streak (1g-9a) and is one-game shy of tying his career high of nine games… He has all 10 of his points on the streak, which is the longest in the NHL this season … Victor Rask has recorded a point in every Hurricanes game so far, seven straight, recording nine points (4g-5a)… Jeff Skinner (3g-4a) has a four-game points streak… Brayden Schenn (2g-3a) and Wayne Simmonds (2g-2a) each have three-game point streaks.

4. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER

The Flyers are looking to snap a three-game losing skid on the road after winning their season opener in LA… This is just the second home game for the Hurricanes, who began the season on a six-game road trip… This is the second of five meetings against Carolina this year with the next meeting coming on Jan. 31… After trailing 2-0, the Flyers scored six of the next seven goals en route to a 6-3 win over Carolina eight days ago on Oct. 22… The Flyers are one of the top scoring teams in the NHL (4th), averaging 3.44 goals per-game, but are 29th in giving up the most goals in the League at 3.89 goals-per-game… A combined 18 goals have been scored in the last two Flyers games.

FLYERS (RW: #17 - Wayne Simmonds)

Simmonds six goals lead the team and is in a five-way tie for the overall NHL lead… He is also tied for the league lead with four power-play goals, while his six power-play points are tied for third … Simmonds recorded a goal and an assist in the last meeting against the Hurricanes and overall has 10 goals and 18 points in 21 career games against Carolina.

HURRICANES (C: #53 - Jeff Skinner)

Skinner is coming off a three-point night with two goals and an assist to help the Hurricanes beat the Rangers on Friday… He is currently on a four-game point streak where he has scored seven of his nine total points on the season (3g-4a)… His nine points are tied for the team lead… Skinner has 10 goals and 17 points in 22 career games against the Flyers.

TODAY AT 50

On October 30, 1969, Flyers and Hockey Hall of Fame legend, Bob Clarke, scored his first career NHL goal. It was scored in the seventh game of his rookie season in a 3-3 tie against the NY Rangers at the Spectrum on goaltender Eddie Giacomin. It was Clarke's goal that tied the game and got the Flyers the extra point.
