Tonight is the second game on back-to-back nights for the Flyers, who own an 8-4-2 mark in that scenario and have won two of their last three second games… Of the previous 14 back-to-backs, nine second games have been decided by one goal and 11 have been played on the road… Wayne Simmonds leads the Flyers in scoring with 12 points (6g-6a) in the second game of the previous 14 back-to-backs with Brayden Schenn right behind him with 10 points (5g-5a).

The Devils are currently in the midst of a 10-game losing skid, going 0-8-2, with their last win coming on Feb. 18… During that streak they have dropped seven of the 10 games by one goal… The Devils return home after a three-game road trip and have played five of their last six games on the road… During the skid, the Devils have averaged 1.90 goals per-game, while allowing 3.3 goals per-game.

Starting tonight, the Flyers and Devils will play the last three games of their season series in the final 13 games of the regular season, including twice in Newark… They are one of two teams the Flyers face five times this season (Carolina)… The Devils have won both meetings this season, outscoring the Flyers, 8-1, while also scoring half of their goals on the power play (4 of 8) in the series… Miles Wood has three goals for the Devils in the series, while Nick Cousins has the lone Flyers goal this year.

On the power play, New Jersey broke a string of five straight games without a power-play goal in their last game, a 5-4 loss to Arizona, but have been successful when scoring on the man advantage, earning points in 22 out of 30 games they produce on the power play, going 13-8-9… The Flyers have scored a power-play goal in each of their last two games and have scored on the man advantage in 36 of their 69 games this season, going 18-16-2 when doing so… The Flyers continue to rank in the NHL's Top 5 for most power-play goals scored, recording 49 PPG in 69 games to rank fourth.

FLYERS (C: #28 - Claude Giroux)

The Flyers captain comes into tonight's game riding a five-game point streak where he has posted two goals and three assists… It's his longest streak since he began the season with a 10-game streak from Oct. 15-Nov. 11… In 20 games against the Metropolitan Division this year, Giroux has 12 points (5g-7a)… Against the Devils he is scoreless this season through two games, but has 34 career points (9g-25a) in 37 games.

DEVILS (LW: #9 - Taylor Hall)

Hall is tied for the Devils lead in scoring in his first year with the team with 44 points in 58 games… He currently has a two-game point streak with a goal and an assist… He has also had a lot of success against the Flyers, averaging over a point per-game with 11 points (5g-6a) in eight career games, while also recording at least a point in all eight of his meetings against the Flyers.

On March 16, 1985… The Flyers earned a 5-1 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Spectrum. Scored by Ron Sutter, the Flyers' second goal of the game was a milestone in franchise history: the 5,000th tally in franchise history up to that point.
