The start of training camp is less than a month away and players are starting to trickle in and get back to hockey season.
With the recent announcement of the Flyers broadcast schedule, you'll of course want to tune into every period and every game, but if circumstances just won't allow it, here are five games on the road that you definitely don't want to miss…
Friday, Oct. 14: at Los Angeles Kings
10:30 p.m. ET on Comcast SportsNet; 97.5 The Fanatic
The Flyers open a hallmark season, celebrating 50 years in the National Hockey League, on the exact date against the exact same opponent of their second game ever. The Flyers will look for a different outcome as they fell to the Kings, 4-2 on Oct. 14, 1967, but fast forward to present day and the 2016-17 Flyers open the season with the entire core of players returning and expecting to build off of last year's late season success.
Across the ice, the Kings have more than few players with star power as well. Anze Kopitar enters this season as the Kings new captain and has led the squad in overall scoring every year starting from 2007-08.
All-Star netminder Jonathan Quick will once again be between the pipes and in front of him will be the reigning Norris Trophy winner as the NHL's best defenseman, Drew Doughty, while up front former Flyer, Jeff Carter and Tyler Toffoli are also players to keep an eye on.
