The crown jewel for fans during the team’s annual development camp welcomes all Flyers prospects (and fans) to the Jersey Shore for the 2016 Trial on the Isle. And here’s the date you need to be there for - early morning of Tuesday, July 12.
Specific details and events are not yet finalized and will be announced at a future date, but if the past is any indicator, a trip to the beaches of Stone Harbor and the Yacht Club to see the future Flyers go through physical and mental competition is assured.
What really makes this event unique is that Flyers fans get to see and interact with the prospects closer than any other event in a casual setting. It’s the ultimate chance to get autographs and photos of the Flyers future stars on the ice.
Past participants have included Sean Couturier, Claude Giroux, Shayne Gostisbehere and Scott Laughton, while stars on the Phantoms this past season such as Cole Bardreau, Taylor Leier, Danick Martel and Sam Morin have all gone through the “Trial”.
In addition, Flyers draft picks coming off the world stage from the World Junior Championships: Radel Fazleev, David Kase, Travis Konecny, Ivan Provorov, Felix Sandstrom and Travis Sanheim, as well as recently signed prospects from the junior and collegiate ranks such as Alex Lyon, Philippe Myers and Reece Willcox are once again expected to be in competition, along with many more prospects who are a part of the club's Development Camp.
Although they are not yet known, expect most (if not all) of the latest draft class of 2016 to be hitting the beach for the first time as well.
