The most elite and draft eligible youth hockey players in the Greater Philadelphia Region will have an opportunity to showcase their skill level in front of national scouts during the sixth annual Liberty Bell Games at the Virtua Center Flyers Skate Zone Friday from June 6 through Sunday, June 8.
This premiere tournament, which is sponsored by Comcast-Spectacor and Wendy’s, will showcase 91 elite high school-aged players from USA Hockey’s Atlantic District.
Scouts and coaches from the National Hockey League, Ontario Hockey League, NCAA, United States Hockey League, United States Premier Hockey League and others will be in attendance.
Thus far, five Liberty Bell Games alumni have been picked in the NHL Entry Draft.
2013, Eamon McAdam by the New York Islanders;
2012, Anthony Stolarz by the Philadelphia Flyers and Nick Ebert by the Los Angeles Kings;
2011, John Gaudreau by the Calgary Flames and Troy Vance by the Dallas Stars.
On April 12, 2014, John Gaudreau accepted the prestigious Hobey Baker Award.
All games are open to the public, and admission is free. Fans in attendance can take part in Flyers-themed hockey activities on Friday beginning at 5 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. through 12 noon.
