Depth forward Andre Savage was born on May 27, 1975 in Ottawa, Ontario. The 5-foot-10, 176-pound forward enjoyed a strong collegiate hockey career at Michigan Tech, graduating in 1998. He then signed with the Boston Bruins, seeing time with the parent club as well as the American Hockey League's Providence Bruins.
On June 14, 2002, the Flyers signed Savage as a free agent. He spent the entire 2002-03 season and part of the next year primarily with the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms. At the AHL level, Savage posted 11 goals, 42 points and 66 penalty minutes in 64 games in 2002-03 and also suited up in 16 games (two goals, one assist, three points, 6:55 average ice time) in the NHL for the Flyers. He played in eight games for the Phantoms the next year before he was moved back to the Providence Bruins.
Savage continued his career at the AHL level until 2004-05. He then played in Sweden and Germany until retiring after the 2009-10 season.
