Power winger Colin Forbes was born in New Westminster, British Columbia, on February 16, 1976. Drafted by the Flyers in the seventh round (166th overall) of the 1994 NHL Draft, Forbes produced 33 goals, 77 points and 137 penalty minutes for the Western Hockey League's Portland Winter Hawks in 1995-96; his final season of junior hockey.
Forbes used his 6-foot-3, 220-pound frame effectively enough to work his way up from the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms (for whom he scored 21 goals as a rookie) to the NHL.
Forbes spent two-plus seasons with the Flyers - tallying 12 goals and 19 points in 63 games in 1997-98 - before being traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning on March 20, 1999 in exchange for Sandy McCarthy and Mikael Andersson.
Ultimately, Forbes played in 311 NHL regular season games (33 goals, 61 points, 213 penalty minutes). He subsequently spent five seasons as a regular in Germany's DEL.
