FINLAND VS. SWEDEN AT 1:00 PM MT - SPORTSNET

Two rivals go head-to-head this afternoon at the World Cup of Hockey, with Finland vs. Sweden at 1:00 PM MT.

Calgary Flames defenceman Jyrki Jokipakka, who played in three pre-tournament games, could be a scratch on the Finnish blueline but head coach Lauri Marjamaki hinted he could make changes to his lineup. Watch for Jokipakka to be a game-time decision.

Flames pivot Mikael Backlund is expected to be in the lineup for Sweden.

This afternoon's contest is extremely important for Finland, who are chasing Sweden and Team North America in the standings. If they are unable to gain at least one point from today's game, Finland will likely be headed for elimination from the preliminary round.

Sweden opened the tournament with a win over Russia this past weekend, giving them two points.

CANADA VS. USA AT 6:00 PM MT - SPORTSNET

Team Canada: A spot in the semifinals would be guaranteed with a win, as would Team USA's elimination from the World Cup of Hockey 2016. But Team Canada's focus is squarely on the first of those goals, ensuring a place in the next round.

Team USA: It's a must-win game in order to stay in contention for a chance to advance into the semifinals. A loss of any kind would eliminate Team USA and send Team Canada and Team Europe into the semifinals before any team in Group A plays its third game.

Here are the projected lineups:
