Where's the Calgary Flames 'all business tie'?

by Staff Writer / Calgary Flames

The Calgary Flames have a new award to pass around the dressing room this season.

Following the home opener the Flames unveiled the "All business tie" and Jeff Friesen was the first one to hang it around his neck.

The tie replaces the hardhat, which was awarded to the hardest working Flame for the past two seasons. The first year it was a green hardhat and last season it was the gold hard hat.

"We like changing things up," said Friesen. "It's a fun team and was given to the guy that was all business, so I guess they wanted to give it to a new guy and they gave it to me."

The 'all business tie' which somewhat resembles the type of tie one would see Fred Flintstone donning, is a thick red tie that has a Flames and NHL logo on it. The back of the tie has the Flames dressing room motto: All Business stitched into it. Word in the dressing room is that goalie Jamie McLennan came up with the idea and had the special tie made up.

Following each Flames win, the player who currently holds the tie, presents it to the player he deems worthy. The presentation is made right after the game and the player must wear the tie during media interviews -- for television, print and radio. The tie then rests in that players' locker until it is presented after the next win.

We'll track the whereabouts of the 'all business tie' throughout the season for Flames fans, posting the list of winners in our newsroom.
