WEST VALLEY CITY, UT -- The ECHL announced today that Utah forward and Calgary Flames prospect Mitch Wahl has been named to the ECHL All-Star team.

The game will be played at the Budweiser Events Center in Loveland, Colorado on Wednesday, January 23 and will be broadcast live on Altitude Sports and Entertainment at 7 p.m. in Utah.

Wahl, 22, currently with the AHL’s Abbotsford Heat, leads Utah in scoring in 2012-2013 with 11 goals and 28 assists for 39 points in 30 games. At the time of his call-up he had scored in 18 of his last 21 games and had multiple-point games in nine of those contests. He is currently fourth in the ECHL, averaging 1.30 points-per-game. 21 of his 39 points have come on the power-play and he leads Utah with 11 total multiple-point games.

Drafted by Calgary in the second round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Wahl had 20 goals and 20 assists for 40 points in 38 games last year with Utah.
