VSilvertips double Hitmen 4-2

CALGARY - Vitali Karamnov scored twice to lead the Everett Silvertips to a 4-2 win over the Calgary Hitmen on Sunday in Western Hockey League action.

Kyle Beach notched a goal and two assists, while Zach Hamill also scored for the Silvertips (10-7-0-0) who skated to their second straight win in Alberta after downing the Red Deer Rebels 3-1 on Friday night.

The Hitmen (12-7-0-1) built up a 2-1 lead after one period on goals by Carson McMillan and Kyle Bortis before the Silvertips reeled off three goals in the second to take control of the game.

Everett goalie Leland Irving stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced to improve his record to 8-6-0, while Calgary netminder Dan Spence made 23 saves in a losing cause.
