Calgary Flames prospect Eetu Tuulola has been selected 40th overall by the Everett Silvertips in the 2016 CHL Import Draft.
"We’re very excited on the opportunity to select Eetu," said Silvertips general manager Garry Davidson. "We’ve become very familiar with his game after observing his development in under-17 and under-18 events. He is a big power forward who delivers a heavy shot and it shouldn’t be surprising he’s developed into a bonafide CHL Import pick and NHL Entry Draft pick."
The right winger was drafted by the Flames in the sixth round (156th overall) in the 2016 NHL Draft in Buffalo, NY. He has spent the past two seasons with the HPK U20 squad, posting 30 goals and 42 points in a combined 62 games.
He also played for Finland at the IIHF U18 World Junior Championship, scoring two goals and four points in seven appearances.
"I play the power forward game," is how Tuulola describes his style of play. "I’m big and strong and I like to score goals. I like to play physical. I’m strong in corner battles and battles in front of the net.
"I think I play like Milan Lucic. Big and strong guy that scores goals. I like to play physical."
