In honour of Travel Tuesday, CalgaryFlames.com will be checking in with players, coaches and management to find out their favourite travel destinations and where they would like to visit in the future!
Today, Mikael Backlund shares his favourite locales:
CALGARYFLAMES.COM: What is your favourite destination in Canada?
BACKLUND: I really enjoyed Emerald Lake. That's a great spot. Frida and I went there for a weekend and we really liked it. It's a peaceful, quiet atmosphere there and it's really relaxing. The lake was really beautiful - the turquoise colour. It was cool. You go over to the little island and stay in the cabins. I thought it was a really neat place. I've been to Kelowna, Vancouver, a lot of big cities like Toronto and Montreal, but Emerald Lake stood out for me.

CALGARYFLAMES.COM: What is your favourite NHL road city?
BACKLUND: Chicago. It's a great city. There's a great atmosphere downtown, by Michigan Avenue. It's great to walk through and a really fun city to visit.
CALGARYFLAMES.COM: What is your favourite vacation spot?
BACKLUND: There's still a lot of places I would like to see but I had a great vacation with my girlfriend Frida in Napa Valley in California. It was great and we're planning on going back there.
CALGARYFLAMES.COM: What destination is on your travel bucket list?
BACKLUND: Hawaii. When you grow up in Sweden, it's so far away and it's a place you always wanted to see. I've heard great things about it from people who have been there. That's next up on my list.
CALGARYFLAMES.COM: If you were to recommend one place in Sweden to visit, where would it be?
BACKLUND: It depends what kind of person you are but there are some very nice places up north, even though it gets dark very early in the winter. In the summer, the sun never comes down. And Stockholm, it's a beautiful city. I love the archipelago in Stockholm. I really recommend people go to visit that.
