Calgary general manager Darryl Sutter did not make a trade at the trade deadline, preferring to keep his core group in tact for the run to the playoffs and, hopefully, deep into the post-season. "We have a good club," said Sutter.

Trade deadline history
The Calgary Flames have made plenty of trade deadline deals since the 1999-2000 season -- 10 to be exact.
Perhaps the most notable in that span of time was trading Cory Stillman to St. Louis to acquire Craig Conroy in 2001.
Often the Flames had made their splash in the trade market prior to the deadline -- as they did in 2004 when they had no deadline deals but had added players like Ville Nieminen, Chris Simon and Marcus Nilson late in the season but prior to the deadline. Of course, that was also the year that the Flames acquired goalie Miikka Kiprusoff early in the season and then advanced to the Stanley Cup Final. Calgary Flames trade deadline history
