Tourney raises more than $270,000

Calgary, AB – Calgary Flames alumnus Jamie Macoun and Flames prospect Riley Armstrong led their respective teams as the low net and low gross winners at the Calgary Flames Celebrity Charity Golf Classic held Thursday at Country Hills Golf & Country Club.


Over 300 golfers participated in the 29th annual tournament raising in excess of $270,000 for the Flames Foundation for Life.

Since its inception 28 years ago, the tournament has raised $3,660,000 for local charities.

Also on the leaders board were teams led by Robyn Regehr (2nd net), Ron Sutter (2nd gross), Dion Phaneuf (3rd net) and J.D. Watt (3rd gross).
 
This year, funds raised will go towards the Flames Foundation for Life -- a foundation that builds on the philosophy of the original Flames Foundation and is dedicated to the following four pillars: Rotary/Flames House, Rotary/Flames Park at Ronald McDonald House, Rotary/Flames for Medical Advancement and Amateur Sports & Grassroots Initiatives.
