“I have grown up in Alberta, we are fortunate to make Alberta our home and live is such an amazing place,” says Glencross. “It is really important to me and my family to make sure we are not only giving back to this area but also be involved in a lot of different activities here.”
Prior to the rodeo a poker tournament will be held in Red Deer for event sponsors at the JackPot Casino in Red Deer. Glencross spearheaded the idea for the event and leads a planning committee and event sales.
“My family and I, along with our event committee, are really excited about the two days – it is going to bring together everything that we love about Alberta and for an amazing cause that really touches our hearts,” said Glencross.
Ronald McDonald House® Central Alberta is prominently located facing the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre and backing on to Gaetz Avenue. The new House in Red Deer is an independent charity, owned and operated by Southern Alberta Pediatric Hostel Society. A feasibility study was conducted to evaluate the need for Ronald McDonald House in Red Deer. The study revealed that there are 33,000 pediatric stays at Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre per year. One third or 11,000 of those children are from out-of-town. That’s an average of 30 out-of-town children per day.
Ronald McDonald House® Central Alberta supports sick children and their families from rural communities surrounding Red Deer.
