CALGARY — A look at the numbers from the Calgary Flames-Colorado Avalanche game at the Pengrowth Saddledome Wednesday.

1 - Number of Team Canada executive directors in the press box. That would be Steve Yzerman, who was able to get a look at four potential Olympians on the Flames -- Jarome Iginla, Jay Bouwmeester, Robyn Regehr and Dion Phaneuf.

2 - Number of goals for Flames forward Olli Jokinen after scoring in the first period.

3 - Shots and 70 seconds at the start of period one for the Flames to score twice on Craig Anderson, one of the hottest goalies in the NHL. They were the fastest two goals to start a home game in franchise history and the third fastest two goals to start aany game in franchise history. The fastest two goals to start a game was 32 seconds in Hartford March 11, 1987. Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen beat Anderson just 15 seconds apart to give the Flames a quick 2-0 lead.

4 - Number of shots on goal for Dion Phaneuf, Jarome Iginla, Rene Bourque and Curtis Glencross. Phaneuf had another four shots blocked

9 - Wins for Avs goalie Craig Anderson, tops in the league.


14 - Number of shots for the Avs. That's the lowest shots against total for the Flames this season.

16 - Number of players on the Flames active roster of 21 that have registered a multiple-point game this season.

19 - Blocked shots by the Avs. The Flames stopped 13 shots from getting through.

20 - First period goals for the Flames, including two against the Avs. It has been the Flames most productive offensive period this season. They have given up 11 goals in the first for a plus nine rating.

42 - Seconds of terrific penalty-killing by Rene Bourque in the second period. He lugged the puck, got shots and kept the Avs from playing with the man advantage.

63 - The number of points Jarome Iginla has against the Avs in 72 career games against Colorado.

296 - Number of points as a Flame for Craig Conroy. The centreman passed Doug Gilmour in that category with a first period assist, moving him in 18th spot overall in franchise history. Conroy has 92 goals and 204 assists in a Flames uniform.
