The Captain's Blog: Landing In Columbus

by Mark Giordano / Calgary Flames

Hey guys! Just checking in from Nationwide Area in Columbus. I'll be blogging throughout the NHL All-Star Weekend and will send out another post tonight after the All-Star Draft.

Johnny and I landed in Ohio last night. My wife and son are with me this weekend and I'm lucky enough to have some other family members and friends in town as well. It's awesome to have the opportunity to not only participate in this event but also to be able to share the experience with my family and friends.

This morning, both Johnny and I met with the media and were able to check out what is happening in and around the arena. The city of Columbus has done a tremendous job with the event and the festivities they're hosting around the downtown core are great. The atmosphere is great.

Tonight is the All-Star Draft and since I've never been drafted before, tonight's event will be a first for me! I'm really looking forward to it, it should be a lot of fun.

This morning, I spent some time at Nationwide Arena for the NHL All-Star Media Availability.
