The Captain's Blog: Hitting The Skills Competition

by Mark Giordano / Calgary Flames

Hey guys! Yesterday was great, with Johnny and I walking the red carpet and getting to take part in the All-Star Skills Competition.

Johnny has done the red carpet walk before, when he was playing in the Frozen Four with BC, but that was my first time doing something like that. It was a really unique way to head into an event and we both had a great time.

The All-Stars Skills Competition was so much fun, not only to participate in but to to watch too. I love watching events like the Hardest Shot - Shea Weber didn't disappoint! - and Accuracy Shooting. One of the highlights definitely was watching Johnny and Jakub Voracek's breakaway - all the guys on the ice were cracking up during that one.

On top of all of that, we shot a commercial with Visa while we were here. It was a really cool experience and I can't wait to see the finished product.

Today, Johnny and I are playing for Team Toews in the All-Star Game. It's awesome that Johnny is going to play now, and make the game even more special. It's on in Calgary 3:00 PM, on CBC!

Heading to the red carpet with Johnny.
