Scotiabank and Flames Better Halves Ultimate Ladies Night Out… A Few of Our Favourite Things treated ladies to what really was the ultimate night out on Wednesday, April 1st.
The sold out event, hosted at Flames Central, was attended by over 600 women for an evening emceed by Cara Fullerton, Noon News Anchor for Global Calgary. Event highlights included: a fashion show featuring the Better Halves – players’ significant others – as models; give-aways all evening and the chance to bid on baskets filled with ”favourite things” courtesy of Flames players and their Better Halves.
All outfits from the fashion show were given away to members of the audience in the form of gift certificates from participating retailers.
Raffle prizes included a $10,000 diamond pendant from Jewels by Maxime’s, a trip for two from Air Canada and a Vive Rejuvenation botox, skin care and make up package.
“Calgary is truly an exceptional and caring city and this event is living proof. We can’t thank those involved enough for being a part of this night as we give back to this community that accepts and cares for us. It makes us proud that women can offer such support to other women and make a difference at the local community level,” says Kara Iginla.
Through their unique and diverse fundraising initiatives, the Calgary Flames Better Halves raised over $80,000 last season in support of the Flames Foundation for Life.
The Flames Foundation for Life, the charitable arm of the Flames Hockey Club, continues to touch the lives of thousands of people through its commitment to education, medical research, health, amateur sports and recreation.
Through a variety of initiatives, the Calgary Flames Foundation For Life has donated over $32 million to worthy causes and projects over the years.
