Social Buzz: The boys are back in town

by Torie Peterson / Calgary Flames

It was a big week in Calgary.

After the Flames dropped three straight on the road, they headed home in hopes of getting back on track in the comfy confines of the Scotiabank Saddledome. Prior to heading out on their road swing last week, the Flames had strung four straight wins together on home ice and looked like a very confident crew when playing in front of the C of Red.

Their fortunes at home continued this week, picking up two victories and extending their 'Dome winning streak to six games.

First up: the Dallas Stars.

Despite falling into a 3-0 hole after 40:00, the Flames clawed their way back in the third period and picked up a 4-3 shootout victory over one of the NHL's hottest teams.

Then on Friday, the Flames hosted the Boston Bruins. They hopped to a 2-0 lead but in a back-and-forth affair, it was a 3-3 game late in the third period.

Brad Marchand was issued a penalty shot in the dying minutes of the game, giving the Bruins a 4-3 lead but the never quit attitude was once again displayed ...

Johnny Gaudreau once again worked his magic in OT, sealing a 5-4 win for the home town team. He picked up his third goal of the night at the 3:20 mark of overtime, capping off an incredible performance.

There was also plenty of community work happening this week!

And finally, the much-anticipated ugly sweater shoot happened this weekend and while our video crew is putting the finishing touches on this masterpiece, we decided to share a few of the photos snapped during the shoot.

Good news, I saw a dog today.
