CALGARY, AB -- Calgary Flames prospect Hunter Smith and the Oshawa Generals have punched their ticket to the Mastercard Memorial Cup Final with a 2-1 victory over the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday.
Oshawa's Cole Cassels opened the scoring at 4:15 of the second period and Tobias Lindberg ended up scoring the game-winner just over 13 minutes later. Kelowa's Gage Quinney scored the Rockets' lone goal at 18:11 of the middle frame.
Smith, who was selected 54th overall in the 2014 NHL Draft, has scored one goal and has 11 shots on net in three games at the tournament. In the OHL postseason, the forward scored nine goals and 18 points in 21 outings.
