MATTHEW TKACHUK ON A TOUGH LOSS:

ON GENERATING SHOTS/CHANCES:

"I don't think many teams want to be giving up 60-plus, I'm sure they (the Blue Jackets) weren't happy with that at all. I don't know how many we got tonight, but I think to me, I don't really look at the shots too much. I more look at the chances, opportunities, zone time. If you have a lot of shots - I don't know how many we had tonight - but it would have been a ton of one-and-dones. Even if we had a ton of shots, we didn't have many chances. It's more sustained O-zone time. Can't just be a one-dimensional team, whether that's a rush team or just an O-zone team. We have to be everything. And that's just talking about chances. I think we've got to worry more about what we gave up tonight than what we had."

"They were a better team, for sure"

ON FINDING CONSISTENCY:

"I think that we've gotten a lot better at that, but you look at a team like St. Louis who's won (the Stanley Cup), they approached this game and gave us nothing and weren't happy with the way they probably played the last game - but came in and had a few days to think about it. We knew they were going to come out better. It's fresh. I know we played last night, but we had to probably be more desperate than what we came into today's game with."

DARRYL SUTTER ON HOW THE GAME PLAYED OUT:

"I think there was little bit of fatigue in the game tonight, similar to the game we just played them in Calgary. I think that was the question that... The big thing that night was the 'Johnny and Matthew Show' and rightfully so. But we had chances on the powerplay - didn't score, missed the net, made individual mistakes from veteran players and cost us goals. ... Give up three goals going into the third, quite honest, you're not going to win hockey games. Very simple."

"Missed the net, made individual mistakes"

ON LOWER SHOT TOTAL:

"That's the way they play. That's a veteran, good hockey club. They had a one-off in Calgary, but if you look at their record, they're on pace for 110-115 points."
