SAY WHAT: FROLIK ON THE CAPTAIN, GAME-WINNING GOAL

A rundown of what was discussed following Wednesday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche

by RYAN DITTRICK @ryandittrick / CalgaryFlames.com

BILL PETERS ON GETTING THE TWO POINTS

"They were the quicker team from the first period right to the end. The shots will support that. We were a little worried coming off the trip. Usually that first game at home is a little tough, and it was. But we found a way to grind it out."

MARK JANKOWSKI ON HIS RARE, NON-SH GOAL

"I almost forgot what it was like to score at even-strength there!"

MARK GIORDANO ON HOW THE GAME PLAYED OUT

"I thought we started really well. I don't think we were sharp in the middle part. Then we got a big powerplay goal by (Lindholm) there. Good third. It's tough; they're a great team, a lot of speed, they were throwing everything at the net. We weren't as sharp as we'd like to be, but we got some big goals at the right moments."

GIORDANO ON FACING THE AVS' TOP LINE

"They're a great line for a reason. We tried to play them tough. When you're up in a game, they're going to send everything and they did. … They generated a lot of offence and tonight - again - and they were a handful, for sure."

MICHAEL FROLIK ON GIORDANO'S INCREDIBLE PLAY

"I've been playing with him for a few years now. He's so consistent. He plays every game against the best lines. He's unbelievable. He makes plays, he's hard on pucks, he's got a good gap, he's got a long stick. He's always stick on puck. He's unbelievable for us. He's the leader here; he's the captain. He's one of the best I've ever met. I'm happy I've had a chance to play with him. ... He's really driving the bus on the backend, and the points are coming for him."

DAVID RITTICH ON FROLIK'S GAME-WINNER

"I don't want to chirp him right now, but he has a lot of goals like that."
