JUUSO VALIMAKI ON HIS GOAL:

ON JUMPING UP IN THE RUSH:

"I came off the bench. Gio and Razzy were on and they gave the puck up to the forwards and changed, and right from the bench, I saw Johnny was going. I decided it would be a good moment to go. That's just an unbelievable pass by him. I don't know, head-high sauce and it lands right on my stick. I just shot it and it went in."

MIKAEL BACKLUND ON THE WIN:

"That was a big win for us. It was a tough game last game, didn't go the way we wanted. We needed to be better and we knew that going into today. Right from the first 10 minutes, we took charge of the game and carried that through the rest of the day. They had some pushes, they have some good, young players that can make things happen, but we did a good job."

ANDREW MANGIAPANE ON BOUNCING BACK:

"This game, we were building, trending in the right direction. It's not all going to just change in one game. It's a build, right? Every time you get out there, you're building on your last shift, you're building on your last game. That's the way we're looking at it and it takes everyone to get the job done."

ON HAVING A FAST START:

"I think that's a huge. Our starts to the games haven't been our best and that's why we haven't had much success. Going out there and having a good couple shifts, rolling four lines and even if we don't score, but everyone's getting involved in the game, that's big and that has to continue."

GEOFF WARD ON A WILD WEEK:

"The perception is the important thing. You look at the stretch, it's 2-1-1 and with everything everybody's been feeling, it's feels like it's been 0-5. You've got to keep everything in perspective. It's not always what happens, it's how you react to it that's most important. Now, all we're worried about it putting a good game on the ice on Monday. If we can do that and come off the road, we'll go from there."
